Common questions about leasing a van
What's the difference between a van subscription and a van lease?
A van subscription is a fully flexible, rolling monthly agreement you can usually end with short notice from one month onwards. A van lease is a fixed-term contract, typically 6 months to 4 years, that usually offers a lower monthly cost in exchange for committing to the full term.
What's included in a van subscription or long-term van hire agreement?
Most van subscriptions and long-term van hire agreements include the vehicle rental, maintenance and servicing, road fund licence (road tax), the manufacturer's warranty and breakdown assistance. You'll typically need to arrange your own fully comprehensive insurance and pay for fuel or electricity.
How quickly can I get a van?
Short-term and subscription partners such as Cocoon Vehicles and Short-Term Leasing can often arrange a van within a few days, subject to availability and approval. Fixed-term leases of 2 to 4 years typically take a little longer as vehicles may be built to order.
Can I lease a van with bad credit or as a new business?
Yes — several of our partners offer non-status leasing and support for new business start-ups, expats and overseas directors who may not meet standard credit criteria. See our Specialist Services guide for details.
